What are Front Lines?
Our face, specifically our forehead, utilizes a series of muscles that contract and expand to help us express a myriad of emotions. Over time, the continuous use of these muscles in conjunction with age-induced loss of elastin and collagen leads to the permanence of dynamic wrinkles.
Front lines are caused by the mechanism of the frontalis muscle – hence the name. The frontalis muscle works by lifting the brows and upper eyelids. These wrinkles appear horizontally in the middle of the forehead unlike worry lines, which are vertical and appear between the brows.
Leaving front lines untreated will cause the wrinkles to set in much deeper and lead to the skin around that region to sag and droop. With regenerer®, you can restore your youth and regain a smooth forehead within a matter of hours.
Front Lines Treatment with Dermal Fillers
regenerer® provides a series of non-surgical treatments that utilize injectables. High-quality dermal fillers containing non-animal fat hyaluronic acid are injected underneath the front lines, lifting them up by increasing the volume underneath. The hyaluronic acid in the fillers also stimulates the connective tissues’ natural healing process, triggering collagen and elastic production.
Botox® comprises of the botulinum toxin, which acts by relaxing the frontalis muscle in the treatment area. This adds volume and limits muscle movement, which prevents it from creating front lines.
Nanofat transfers first obtain stem cells from the adipose tissue (fat), infusing it into an injectable formula. Besides lifting the wrinkles, the stem cells in the formula also help restore the development of new cells that create natural-looking results.
Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect during the procedure?
Your physician will determine the amount of Botox® or dermal filler you require. On the day of the procedure, our licensed nurses will clean and numb the treatment area using a topical anesthetic. Next, they will carefully and meticulously administer the injections using small injections.
How soon can I see the results?
Results of our non-aesthetic front lines treatment are immediate, which you can see in the mirror you’ll be provided during the procedure as the nurse administers it. You can see more significant results a week or so later when any initial swelling goes down.
How long do the results last?
The longevity of the results depends on the type of front lines treatment you choose. Dermal fillers and Botox® typically last between 4 and 9 months, while nanofat transfers have more long-term results.
Other factors such as your health, the environment, and sun exposure, may also impact how long the results last.
Will I be in pain?
Non-surgical aesthetic treatments regenerer® performs are minimally invasive and are performed after a topical anesthetic is applied to numb the area. Most people do experience some discomfort when the needles are injected, but some pain is normal.
If you experience increased anxiety or have a low-pain tolerance, regenerer® offers a pain management solution called Pro-Nox™. It is a pneumatically-delivered sedation system that relieves pain and anxiety without putting you rendering you unconscious.
How long is the downtime?
While there is little to no downtime involved in our non-surgical front lines treatment, the aftercare instructions mentioned below are critical for ensuring great results.
- Refraining from rubbing, touching, or massaging the area for at least the first six hours after the procedure.
- Avoid going under the sun right after the procedure.
- Don’t expose the treatment area to extreme heat (tanning beds, etc) or cold for at least 2 weeks after the procedure.
- Keep the treatment area makeup-free for the first 12 hours.
- Avoid smoking, consuming alcohol, and strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours.
*If you’re getting the procedure to prepare for an event like your wedding, plan it 4 to 6 weeks before. This is to ensure there is no residual swelling, redness, or bruising and to allow the fillers to settle properly.
Am I a candidate?
Front lines treatment is suitable for anyone who is generally healthy. If you have any other underlying health issue, a serious skin condition, or are undergoing treatment, consult your physician first.
*Please schedule your consultation with Dr. Khalique today to discuss your concerns and determine whether this technique is suitable for you or not.
Are there any side effects to be concerned about?
Side effects of the front lines treatment are minimal. Slight pain around the injection sites along with redness, swelling, and minor irritation is common. Fortunately, these side effects are temporary and go away within a few days or less.
